Another place that you can look for baseball camps is around local schools or community centers. Especially if you are looking for summer baseball camps for the kids, there may be some postings around school before the end of the school year for the summer. There are directories of baseball camps all around the country sorted by state, so wherever you are looking for a baseball camp, you are likely to find one.

Major League Baseball Tryout Camps

Major League baseball tryout camps happen in several places all over the country as well. However, the tryouts differ from regular baseball camps because these specific tryout camps are for people that can try out to play on a major league team. Often times the major league team may put an advertisement out, like an ad in the paper, and offer for people to come to a certain place at a certain time to try out for their team. This is offer for players that were unable to play in college for some reason, but are really good, or for border line players that have great possibilities. Many times, the advertisement will suggest that the player come with certain qualifications. Often times there will not be a ton of players trying out, but there can be on average about 50 to 100 people to tryout. Unfortunately, opportunities like these seem to be dwindling for young players. These tryout camps are happening less and less.

Baseball Training Camps

Baseball training camps are much like baseball camps. However, when talking about spring training camps, there is quite a difference. All major league teams go to spring training in either Florida or Arizona. In Florida, the teams are on what is called the Grapefruit League and in Arizona, it is the Cactus League. Players get time to train during the spring before the head back north, or wherever their home land is, for regular season games. These training camps are great for the players and fans alike. The players get some time to warm up after being rusty all winter and fans get a taste of their favorite teams, and in the warm weather to boot as it’s a win-win situation.
