Chicago Cubs

The Chicago Cubs are a Major League Baseball team. They are located in Chicago, Illinois and belong to the National League Central Division. The Cubs Chicago baseball team is one of two teams located in Chicago. The other Major League Baseball team are the Chicago White Sox who belong to the American league. Together with the Atlanta Braves the Chicago cubs are one of the two remaining charter members in the National League and the only team of the two still left their original hometown. Nicknames for the Chicago Cubs include “The Cubbies” or “The North Siders” due to their location compared to the Chicago White Sox. The very famous stadium of the Chicago Cubs is Wrigley field, which is almost as well known as Fenway Park.

Two World Series titles were won by the Chicago Cubs. These titles are far back in history at the beginning of the 19th century in 1907 and 1908.

They also won several division titles and pennants; besides one division title in 2003 all the other titles were accomplished before 1945.

Four Chicago Cubs pitchers won Cy Young Awards, Fergie Jenkins in 1971, Bruce Sutter in 1979, Rick Sutcliffe in 1984 and Greg Maddux in 1992.
