Houston Astros

AS a Major League Baseball team the Houston Astros belong to the National League, Central Division. The Houston Astros baseball team is based in Houston Texas and their home stadium is Minute Maid Park. The baseball team was founded in 1962 as a National League expansion team. In the fairly short Houston Astros history the team had 9 playoff appearances and World Series appearance but they did not win a World Series yet. From 1962, their founding days, till 1694 the team was also know as the Houston Colts and then changed their name under a new management to Houston Astros.

The colors of the Houston Astros uniforms are brick red, black and sand.
The Houston Astros logos on the uniform and the hats are slightly different. The uniform logo is a red five-pointed star with the script word “Astros” below it. The logo on the baseball hats is just a red five-pointed star. The Houston Astros schedule includes 162 games in a regular season. In 1986 the Houston Astros made it into the post-season playoff games and won against the Atlanta braves 7-6 in an 18-inning Division series game. Till 2005 this game held the record for longest Major League post season game in history, now it still holds the record for longest League Championship Series game.
The 1990 Houston Astros had several problems. They were discontent with their current stadium Astrodome that was renovated for a different team, attendance declined; they even had to sell their star pitcher Nolan Ryan. Ryan entered shortly after he was sold the Hall of Fame as a Texas Ranger. The team even threaten to sell the franchise to Washington D.C., but were not allowed to by the National League and so sold the team to a Texas businessman. As a sports necessity nowadays there are physicians for the Houston Astros and after a incident with a Pittsburgh Pirates player and dirt in his eyes there also was added an eye doctor to the Houston Astros medical staff.

The Houston Astros spring training facility is the Osceola County Stadium in Kissimmee, Florida.
