Major League Baseball

One of the biggest sports in the United States, Major League Baseball, also often abbreviated MLB, is entertainment for the whole family. MLB is professional baseball and the highest level of baseball in North America. To be even more precise, Major League baseball is the head organization that operates North America’s two high-level professional baseball leagues, the American League and the National League since 1903. MLB baseball teams play 162 games a season.

Major League Baseball rules are written down in the Major League Baseball rule book. Even though the rule book exists, since the National League and the American League are two different entities under one organization there are some slight differences in the rules as for example the designated hitter rule.

MLB rules also states rules about the MLB gear worn. For example there are rules about uniforms and dressing of major league baseball players such as MLB logos cannot depict in any way a baseball, sleeves need to be of same length and shirts and sleeves cannot be frayed or worn out. The only valid MLB logo with a baseball is the trademark logo of the Major league baseball organization that displays the silhouette of a batter.

MLB scores and MLB statistics can be found on the official page of the major league baseball organization as well as lots of newspapers. Newspapers and unofficial major league baseball pages also offer MLB rumors. These rumors are usually MLB trade rumors and sometimes steroid or other related issues. Everybody wants to know who gets traded where and who is in trouble for steroid use.

Here a small piece of historic MLB information. In major league baseball history the longest major league baseball game played was on May 8th 1984. Chicago won over Milwaukee in 25 innings and it took 8 hours 6 minutes. This is the longest game in American League history. The longest game in National League history is just shy of this record with 23 innings where San Francisco won against New York on May 31st 1964 in 7 hours 23 minutes.
