NCAA Baseball

NCAA baseball is one sport that is slowing growing and that really surprises me. I thought NCAA baseball would seem massive growth by now, but sadly it hasn't. I really can't figure that out though. NCAA baseball is basically the same game you played as a kid and enjoyed. IT's just people don't seem to love the sport much. I mean the Olympics dropping baseball should tell you how far baseball has feel off the map. I don't understand why NCAA baseball though is struggling. They have a very good product and all I can figure out is it's not sold very well to the consumer today. Most of the college sports do real well except NCAA baseball it's lagging in fan attendance and sales of merchandise. One of the biggest reasons I think is because of coverage. Their is really no demand for the game and thus the media really could care less about covering it. this is why i think NCAA baseball is never really talked about. Another big reason is their are no big name players that you can name right away which hurts the sport alot. NCAA baseball has no one to hang their hat on so to speak which makes it very hard to market. Basketball and football just don't have that problem.

The big question is what is the solution to this problem. The NCAA needs to work on ways to get NCAA baseball out their more often. Maybe starting a channel elusively for that would be a start. Many fans can even find scores about their favorite NCAA baseball team so how do you expect them to support or follow them. I hope something changes real soon or NCAA baseball could be in for some very lean years which is never good if you ask me. Baseball is popular everywhere except in college it seems. Hopefully NCAA baseball will get it's act together and grow in the near future, but I really don't know. The powers to be seem to be stuck in a rut with no where to go with it. If that is there answer than I feel real bad for baseball and college baseball in general. It's time for the NCAA to step up and make NCAA baseball all it can be and more for at least the fans.
