New York Mets

The Major League baseball team the New York Mets belongs to the National League, Eastern Division. The New York Mets team is based in Flushing, a neighborhood in the borough Queens in New York City, New York. The MLB New York Mets are one of two Major League Baseball teams in the city of New York, the other one being the New York Yankees.

In 1957, the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Giants abandoned New York for California, leaving the largest city in the US without a Major League baseball franchise.
