San Diego Padres

As a Major League Baseball team the San Diego Padres belong to the National League, Western Division. The San Diego Padres baseball team is based in San Diego, California. Home stadium of the San Diego Padres is PETCO Park since 2004. They were established in 1969 and currently they are the division Champions. In 1969 the San Diego Padres baseball team was founded as one of four expansion teams in Major League Baseball. The other three teams were the Montreal Expos (now they are called Washington Nationals), the Kansas City Royals and the Seattle Pilots (now the Milwaukee Brewers).

In San Diego Padres history the team won five National League Division titles and two National League pennants. Together with only four other teams the San Diego Padres have never won a World Series title. The San Diego Padres season with the most wins was in 1998 with 98 wins and 64 losses, while the season with the most losses was in their beginning year in 1969 with 52 wins and 110 losses.

The logo on San Diego Padres uniforms and San Diego Padres hats are slightly different from each other. The San Diego Padres logo on uniforms has the big white script letters Padres superimposed over a to the bottom pointed 5-sided shape. Inside the shape are also in smaller letters the words San Diego and several different blue colored waves. The San Diego Padres hat logo is white letters S and D interlocked. The current uniform colors are dark blue, sand and white.

The San Diego Padres spring training takes place in the Peoria Sports Complex in Peoria, Arizona. This means in spring training games the San Diego Padres belong to the Cactus League. Tickets for spring training are of course also available to any fans willing to travel the distance.
